Daydream Wednesday

Day three: there seems to be no one working at my office block. Why is that? I’m very sure it’s not a holiday unless, of course, the calendar was changed in a parallel time. Without my knowledge.

As I drove to work this morning — thus adding up to my carbon footprints, something that I hear about a lot in the radio these days — my mind involuntarily wandered into a distant space and time.

I was taken back to Nyhavn sometimes in 2000. It was one summer afternoon, and this summer was nice especially when the last winter was wicked. Stopped by at the Italian pizza joint below my apartment and tapau a small pizza. I then walked to Nyhavn and watched locals praying to the sun god without a name. Got myself six Tuborg stubbies and hopped onto one of those tourist boats, and went for a ride on the canals. The guides knew me by then. I think it was 10kr at that time. That was a good summer.

I want THAT summer. NOW! aarggh…

*sigh* Oh, well…back to work.

It’s raining heavily outside my office, complete with the thick dark ala end-of-the-world clouds!

Old or not old. Life is still a long journey to the end and the good times is always following a good Shepard where ever he is, broke or not my friend

Pat: Oh, I tend to be unnecessarily discreet about my whereabouts at times, especially when the place is not in a bar. I was there for a year, trying to melamar the little mermaid. Unfortunately, she didn’t want to swap her flippers to human feet…or…hhm…was it the other way around? ;-)

These good memories come to visit me especially during times when I get fed up with work…and sometimes, life in general. Sometimes it’s good to have good memories, sometimes it’s not especially when you know it’s not possible to relive it. Or do we really want to relive it? But once my fed upness with work is over, those memories are also gone. Just like that. How strange.

Had to google Nyhavn to find out where it is. So, thank you for the lesson. And why, pray tell were you there? Holiday or studying? See so many kaypoh questions – but only because you don’t say.

But, I agree, places from our past with good memories are lovely to visit again – in our minds. I dunno about actually going there though. Oftentimes, we’re disappointed. Somehow our memories make them so much better than they actually were, or, they changed radically while we were gone!
