Note at 0106

I had two bottles of Guinness and several cans of Stella at a local kopi shop. I expected it to make me go to sleep by the time I got home but I’m still wide awake. That was around…hhm…10pm? Memory got a bit chin phin on that part.

Anyways, I got home, wide awake as if the alcohol just got sponged somewhere inside my body, failing to reach my brain (if any). So, I decided to read a bit. Not the usual novel – I’m still with ..Cholera”, yes, amazing kan? – but a book that would have bored me to sleep at this time of the night: Mauss’ “The Gift”. Instead, I got addicted to it and managed to scheme through 20-odd pages, a feat that I couldn’t achieve on normal hours. Damn.

Oh well, like I said, ’tis a random note. At 0106hrs. I can’t write anymore. The battery on my laptop is about to die off soon. It could only last for 25-30 minutes these days. What do you expect from a 5-year old?

Oh, yes. Discursive thought. Gotta go.

    Let me interpret this post:

    1) You are intellectual engagement with your reading materials surpass your physiological need for sleeping.

    2) Your complaint on your laptop (purposefully mentioned 5 year old) shows frustration towards the old and desire for the new? (Read: Macbook?)

Main-main, jangan marah macam gajah okies…

Yeah, i know what you mean. There’s just no art and culture in that stuff. Guess it works for ‘em macho cowboys in the desert, not for cultured beings of Borneo :-)

Gustri: I tried it already and am not going to do it again. I can’t see the point of gulping tasteless alcoholic beverages only for it to burn my lips, throat, chest and belly, added with goosebumps and funny reaction. Not to mention 95% alcohol. That’s like suicide lah. I’d stick to my langkau. :-)
